Minimally Invasive Dental Care

We do dentistry. Differently.

Much of dentistry today focuses on quick fixes to get patients in and out the door, even if that means performing serious procedures that lead to more problems down the road.

After many years of studying the best dental methods from across the globe, Mosaic Dental does dentistry differently.

With the right treatment, we’ve found most of our patients’ teeth can be restored with less invasive treatments than traditional dentistry typically recommends, rather than undergoing major repairs or replacements.

Your Real Teeth Are Precious. We Help Preserve Them.

WHAT IS BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY?

Biomimetic means “life-like copy.”

Biomimetic Dentistry is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional dentistry. The technique allows Dr. Gillespie to save as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, creating a longer lasting, healthier tooth.

When you have tooth damage or decay, Biomimetic Dentistry is gentle to the remaining tooth structure. The technique removes only the damaged portion of the tooth, leaving the healthy part intact.

Some of our patients call us a biological dentist. Others refer to our practice as holistic dental care. We prefer Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry.

Less Pain. Fewer Treatments. Better Protection.

Why Patients Like You Prefer Biomimetic Dentistry

Biomimetic Dentistry is a more natural and less invasive approach to dentistry. Here’s what our patients love about it.

Less Pain

While in dental school, students are taught to chisel away much of the tooth’s original structure to make way for a crown.

In some cases, the tooth is drilled down to a stump. Many people don’t realize that often their teeth can be saved without a crown.

As a provider of Biomimetic Dentistry in Tyler, Dr. Gillespie and his team work hard to save your teeth without a crown. In our office, we’ve seen a 95% reduction in crowns.

Less Drilling

Biomimetic Dentistry uses less drilling than comparable traditional techniques.

Instead, we use a combination of air abrasion (sandblasting) and special stains that dye the damaged portion of the tooth.

Traditional crown prep often removes 100% of the remaining healthy enamel. But Biomimetic Dentistry usually preserves 100% of the remaining healthy enamel, protecting your teeth from further damage.

Fewer Future Treatments

Traditional dentistry typically causes more problems than it solves.

Often, patients will have to return again and again for corrective measures on already ‘fixed’ teeth.

Biomimetic Dentistry saves you time and money by preventing many future treatments. Biomimetic Dentistry can deliver lower lifetime costs as compared to traditional dentistry.

How Much Does Biomimetic Dentistry Cost?

The dental market is set up to profit primarily from major invasive surgeries, like crowns. As a Biomimetic Dentist in Tyler, we use a different approach, which requires a different pricing structure.

Rather than charging exorbitant prices on major surgeries, many of our patients opt for one of our affordable in-house dental plans which cover 100% of the cost of all regular cleanings, x-rays, and exams, and up to 50% of the cost for most procedures.

Is Mosaic Dental A Holistic Dental practice?

Some of our patients call us looking for a “natural dentist” in Tyler. Although we do not typically use that term to describe our practice, we are happy that patients looking for a holistic dentist turn to us because of our commitment to minimally invasive dentistry.
